These concerts were made possible, in part, thanks to support from Yamaha and the Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant.

Featuring the Isaura String Quartet alongside internationally acclaimed artists Amy Knoles, Ajay Kapur, and Ulrich Krieger, Machines and Strings is an interdisciplinary project curated by ISQ for CalArts and REDCAT. An immersive concert experience, the project brings together performers, designers, and technicians from multiple artistic disciplines, featuring world premieres, the KarmetiK Machine Orchestra, and custom-built mechatronic instrument Lydia.

summer 2015 at SPACE ARTS CENTER | Program notes

ISQ’s 2015 and 2016 series sa·lon presented seven total programs as summer residencies with Space Art Center in South Pasadena. Featuring collaboration with composers, vocalists, and creative technologists, sa·lon includes the world premiere of eight new works including seven ISQ commissions, with programs including Audio/Visual: Graphic Scores, Travels: Dances - Drones, Soundings: Voices - String Songs, Travels: Progression - Recollection, Heart of Glass, and more.
